There’s rooms, and there’s chambers, but mistakes have to be put out with the dog in his well-earned place. The strangers you encounter out there, the ones made for kissing or for punching or for wandering past: they, too, must be put to sleep.
It’s been better than this, I know. But my how the fields look inviting, how big and rosy they seem right here from where I’m standing.
